Cleaning Your Saalt CupUpdated 5 months ago

There are a few different techniques when it comes to keeping your cup clean, so here are some of our go-to suggestions!

It is important to sanitize your cup before first use and before or after each period. You can do this by either:

  • Boiling your cup for 4-5 minutes (Pro-tip: put your cup in tongs or a whisk to keep it from touching the bottom of the pan)
  • Wipe your cup with 70% isopropyl alcohol, allowing the cup to dry completely so the alcohol can evaporate
  • Use the Saalt Steamer or a compact sanitizer, like the Saalt Compact Sanitizer, by either microwaving your cup, or pouring boiling water over it. (remember to turn your cup inside out so the stem doesn't get bent during the sanitizing process)

During your period, you will want to clean your cup at least once every 12 hours. You can do so by rinsing the cup with cold water (to prevent staining) and then washing the cup with hot water and Saalt Wash or another wash that is mild, pH-balanced, fragrance-free, oil-free, and rinses clean with no residue.
