Saalt Steamer vs Compact Sanitizer?Updated a day ago

Both the Saalt Steamer & the Saalt Compact Sanitizer are great options for sanitizing your cup or disc. But here are some key differences:

Saalt Steamer:

Now you can quickly and conveniently sanitize your cup or disc without the hassle of boiling. Just add clean water, click the start button, and voilá! As effective as boiling, without the hassle.

- Sanitize your cup or disc at the touch of a button. Portable so you can take it on the go.

- As effective as boiling, without the hassle. Quickly steams to eliminate microorganisms, making your cup or disc safe to use.

- Beautiful and powerful, just like you. Custom-designed in the USA by period care experts. Perfectly sized for your bathroom counter. Designed by Jackson Hedden, Inc.

The Saalt Steamer is a countertop appliance used to sanitize your cup or disc. It can replace boiling or wiping your cup with isopropyl alcohol, and is just as effective!

To use your Saalt Steamer, remove the lid and pour 1 teaspoon of water into the hole in the center of the basin. Place your cup/disc upside down on the platform, and put the lid back on. Next, plug it in and press the top button to turn it on and allow the steamer to start sanitizing. The LED light will turn on to indicate that the steamer is running.

The steamer will shut off on its own after the steaming cycle is complete. Keep a safe distance and don't touch any part of the steamer until it has stopped running and the LED light is off. This will take around 3-6 minutes. Once the light is off, wait 2-3 minutes until your cup/disc and steamer are cool, and remove the steamer lid. Once your cup/disc is sanitized, unplug the steamer and let it dry off before storing it away.

Saalt Compact Sanitizer:

The Saalt Compact Sanitizer allows you to sanitize your menstrual cup or disc anywhere. Just boil water, pour, wait 3 minutes, and go. Or fill with water, add your cup/disc, and place directly in the microwave for about 3 minutes (or until the water boils).

- Great for travel! Compact and no need to plug in.

- Doubles as a portable option for rinsing/washing your cup or disc without a sink when paired with our Squeeze Bottle (think bathroom stalls & camping trips)

Our Compact Sanitizer is made of food-grade silicone and is a great way to sanitize your cup on the go! It can be used in a couple of ways. To sanitize your cup or disc in the microwave, fully submerge it in water and place the Compact Sanitizer in the microwave with the lid off. Since microwave wattage can vary, just keep an eye on it to ensure the water has come to a boil, which should take about 3-5 minutes. Once the water is boiled, remove the sanitizer from the microwave and allow the contents to cool down before removing your cup or disc.

We have also found that pouring boiling water over your cup or disc is another effective way to sanitize it. To do so, bring water to a boiling temperature and pour it into your Compact Sanitizer, fully submerging your cup or disc. Place the lid of the compact sanitizer upside down over the top of the sanitizer and let it rest for 3-5 minutes. Once it has cooled down, you can use your cup or disc! As a note, the lid of the compact sanitizer is designed to fit snuggly and be air-tight. Because of this, it can take a little finagling to put the lid on the sanitizer. We recommend placing the lid upside down to effectively trap heat without running the risk of getting splashed with boiling water. Ouch!
